Pomegranate Surplus in Spain

There are tons of pomegranates coming from Spain this year.  Favorable climate conditions have contributed to a 30% increase in pomegranate production in the Elche region of Spain.  This is great for European pomegranate consumers who will see this surplus decrease prices for pomegranate fruit.  Spanish officials attribute the success to new irrigration systems installed by my pomegranate producers.

Pomegrante Juice May Help Prostate Cancer

New studies are showing that 8 ounces of pomegranate juice may help fight localized pockets of prostate cancer.  These pockets, those that are not treatable, grew much slower among the men who drank the 8 ounces per day.  This was a long term study taking place over six years which helps give it legitimacy.  This may also lead to future studies on the preventative nature of the pomegranate fruit as well.
